AI Search Visibility FAQ
Answers about AI visibility tracking, GEO workflows, public leaderboards, free tools, pricing, and private brand monitoring.
1. What are AI search engines?
AI search engines are answer engines that use large language models to respond to queries directly, rather than returning a list of links. Examples include ChatGPT Search, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, and Microsoft Copilot. Unlike traditional search, they synthesize answers from multiple sources and cite or recommend specific brands and pages.
2. How does ChatGPT work as a search engine?
ChatGPT Search retrieves live web content and uses GPT-4 to synthesize answers with citations. When a user asks a product or category question, ChatGPT selects sources it considers authoritative, citable, and relevant. Brands that appear in ChatGPT answers benefit from high-intent visibility that traditional search rankings do not capture.
3. What are AI generated answers and how do they affect my brand?
AI generated answers are responses produced by language models in reply to user queries. They replace or supplement traditional search result pages. If your brand is not mentioned in AI generated answers for your category, you are invisible to users who rely on ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Google AI Overviews — even if you rank well in traditional search.
4. What is AI search visibility?
AI search visibility is the evidence of whether answer engines such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews mention, rank, describe, or recommend your brand when users ask category and problem-specific questions.
5. How is GEO different from traditional SEO?
Traditional SEO focuses on how web pages rank in search results. GEO and AI visibility tracking focus on how AI systems understand your brand, which competitors they mention, what answer text they generate, and whether your brand appears in useful recommendation contexts.
6. What does the public AI leaderboard show?
The public leaderboard shows how brands and products appear across selected AI ranking categories. It is useful for market discovery, competitor context, and spotting categories where private tracking may be worth setting up. It is not a guarantee of your private brand performance or future rankings.
7. When should I use a private AI visibility tracker?
Use a private tracker when you need repeatable evidence for your own brand, competitors, prompts, snapshots, and answer changes over time. The leaderboard is good for discovery; private tracking is better for ongoing monitoring and decisions.
8. What can the free tools tell me before I buy?
Free tools can help you inspect AI search readiness, citation gaps, crawler access, and visibility issues before committing to a paid workflow. They are diagnostics and readiness checks, not saved monitoring, source-history proof, or a guarantee that AI engines will cite, rank, or recommend your site.
9. Can I import Google Search Console data?
You can start from CSV / GSC export import. AIvsRank does not connect native GSC OAuth/API, list Google properties, store Google tokens, or automatically sync Search Console data as a public capability today.
10. Do you integrate with GA4, DataForSEO, Ahrefs, or Semrush?
No GA4, DataForSEO, Ahrefs, or Semrush production integration is claimed on the public site today. AIvsRank can still run a first-pass visibility workflow from imported demand, AI visibility evidence, diagnosis, actions, available-evidence validation, and report readiness.
11. Does validation prove ROI or revenue impact?
No. Validation compares available evidence around completed actions and can show directional follow-up signals, caveats, stale evidence, immature windows, or insufficient evidence. It is not automated ROI proof, revenue attribution, or a guarantee that an action caused a business result.
12. Can I export PDF reports or share a client portal?
Current reports are project-internal immutable versions with frozen evidence windows, actions, validation follow-up, missing data, and caveats. You can use browser/system print for a selected version. They are not a PDF export service, public share link, client portal, white-label report system, scheduled email workflow, or external delivery service.
13. Can consultants or agencies use AIvsRank for stakeholder review?
Teams and consultants can organize private multi-project evidence workflows for stakeholder review. This describes a workflow, not an agency package, client portal, white-label reporting system, new access model, or external report delivery. Current plan availability remains limited to the published checkout-backed monthly plans.
14. Why are your plans priced higher than typical SEO tools?
Because AIvsRank tracks AI answer engines, not only traditional web search. It requires LLM inference, multi-engine orchestration, stored snapshots, competitor comparison, and recurring checks, which makes the infrastructure different from SEO crawling.
15. Can I switch plans anytime?
Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades apply at your next billing cycle.
16. Do you offer refunds?
Monthly subscriptions are generally not refundable after purchase. Yearly billing is not currently offered on the public pricing page, so yearly refund terms are not advertised here. Contact support if you believe a billing error occurred.
17. What happens when I outgrow Free?
You can continue using Free for public discovery, or upgrade to a paid subscription when you need private projects, active prompts, monitoring frequency, and saved history.
18. Can I use the Free plan long-term?
Yes. Free is best for public discovery and setup evidence. Ongoing private tracking usually requires a paid subscription because project and prompt capacity are plan-based.
19. Do you support multiple markets or languages?
The public product is English-first today. Chinese, Japanese, and English are accepted product contexts, but AIvsRank does not promise full multilingual reporting across every workflow until the implemented surfaces support that claim.
20. Do you provide API access?
Public API access is not available for now. The current public workflow should not be read as a provider API, native GSC sync, GA4 sync, or SEO vendor data product.
21. Do you support private deployment or on-premise?
Not supported for now.
22. Is my data safe?
We treat customer tracking data as sensitive product data and avoid publishing unsupported compliance promises. If you need formal security, compliance, data-processing, or audit materials for procurement, contact us so we can confirm what is currently available.
23. Can I add more seats, Lite, annual, or agency packages?
Not supported for now on the public pricing page. Lite plan, annual discount, and agency package availability should not be assumed unless they appear in the current published pricing and checkout-backed product behavior. Multi-project stakeholder review does not itself create an agency package or new access model.
24. Can I pay yearly?
Not supported for now on the public pricing page. Current pricing copy should be read as monthly plan behavior only.
25. Do you throttle or limit usage?
Plan entitlements define your active project and active prompt capacity. Once you exceed your limit, you can choose:
- reduce active trackers
- reduce active prompts
- upgrade plan
26. Do you guarantee rankings, citations, AI Overview inclusion, or crawler outcomes?
No. AIvsRank does not guarantee rankings, citations, AI Overview inclusion, crawler outcomes, source pickup, or model behavior. It helps you collect evidence, diagnose gaps, plan actions, and validate with available signals.
